The Human Experience
You can be black, white, brown, yellow. You can be born rich or poor. Born into a good family or in an abusive one. You can be taller or shorter. You can have siblings or not. You can be born physically impaired or not. What you were born into is the starting point.
What you do with everything you have or do not have is your CHOICE.
Whatever it is, our journey through life requires meaning. Without meaning there is only endless death. The feeling of going through life as a slave. As somebody’s toy. As a victim of circumstances. A machinery of other people’s agendas. A slow and painful death, more painful than the physical death.
Meaning gives everything we do or do not do a perspective. Life no longer imposes on us, it gives us. No longer do we seek for something, we are expressing. In each moment we are presented a gift: what we do with it is our choice. It is also what we choose to tell to the world: our message. Our choices and as some of us think, our non-choices tell the message. Choices are not actions, choices are perspective. We were given a gift: a choice of perspective.
When our meaning is produced unconsciously, it is out of our control. Most of the day, we live and behave rather unconsciously, without looking for the meaning with our awareness.
When we redefine meanings of the past or define a meaning for our future, we are given a choice of a different perspective on life. We can choose an empowering or dis-empowering perspective. The empowering perspective says: you have been blessed in the past, are blessed in the present and will be blessed in the future. The dis-empowering one tells us we were given hardship, are living in less than perfect present and will probably be challenged in the future.
Which perspective have you chosen and why?
