Life is Not Your Doing

Yes. I mean it. Although you know how you could implement all these tactics, designs and try to be better, life is not that. Life is the process. Life is not WHEN the dream comes true. Life is all in between and in and around you all the time.

The famous one: Life is what happens while you are busy planning it.

It just seems like right to think about it when life draws your attention to its fleeting nature. When people leave, or places change or you just age while you were…busy. While you planned how you will watch more sunsets or sunrises this year, the sun has been rising and setting regardless and relentlessly…showing you, it does not judge or wait for anyone. You got the life in you, you just need to set it loose again. Set it loose…No matter what happens.

It’s not what you plan, design, create or manifest. It’s not what you feel or imagine. It’s way bigger and more powerful. It’s ever expanding. It’s never going to be so small as to fit in a person, event or place. It’s never going to be just that. You cannot fit it in a dream, life will escape and wake you up.

It touches you from in between the lines you read and write. Life is the very basic presence, the only fundamental thing that exists and you cannot make it or yourself better by trying to mend it. It is there, perfectly. It never asked you to repair it, design it or accumulate. It asked you to be there and take part. Truly take part. In the middle of nothingness and in the middle of a crowd in any time and place you are at, it asks you to take part. Let go of the thoughts, of controls and wishes for the future. It asks you to release nostalgia, past pains, hurts and disappointments.

It asks you to change and follow the flow, like water. Going right and left, bottom and up, without thinking whether this suits your lifestyle, what you should be doing, relying only on your very subtle senses and a whisper in the background calling you, come on, let go and flow.

Don’t be scared, don’t evaluate or over-analyse, don’t calculate or open your schedule to set up a meeting with life on a Wednesday afternoon. It is calling you today and every day and in infinity on beyond… It is gently nudging you. It’s not even calling you by your name, because it knows everything behind the name…every painful curve or joyous mountain, life knows everything about YOU. Who are you to design it? You can only recognize. This old friend. This loving hug. This place where everything feels deeply and lovingly familiar. When your stop counting the minutes, is when you meet life.

Random Meeting with Life Scenario

Life: Where have you been so far?

I’ve been doing. I’ve been trying to make it all better. I’ve been trying to accumulate so I can go to places and be better. I’ve been learning to be better. But I still have so much to do…

Life: So, where do I fit in your schedule?

In the mornings, when I do my meditation. It takes full 12 minutes, I am so proud of that. I’ve even set the alarm to meet you.

Life: Oh, that’s so kind. What else have you been up to?

Oh, you mean my hobbies? Social life? I’ve been struggling to see all my friends and family because I’m busy making myself better for them. Oh, and accumulating so I can see them again in the near future.

Life: Really? How is that working out for you?

Not really. Everything is kind of falling apart while I’m making amends. But I’m trying to figure it all out. That’s why I meditate. Always a solution, you have to be positive, you know.

Life: I guess that sounds reasonable enough. So I should come in the mornings then, for 12 minutes?

Yes, that would be best. Thank you so much.
